Stealth Planned Parenthood Mega Clinic Targets Missouri Women and Babies

The secret construction of a Planned Parenthood mega-abortion facility near the Missouri state line in Fairview Heights, Illinois has residents and pro-life advocates up in arms. The deceptive move is reminiscent of the abortion giant’s covert October 2, 2007 opening of what was then the nation’s largest abortion clinic in Aurora, Illinois. Planned Parenthood’s subterfuge a dozen years ago prompted the Thomas More Society, a not-for-profit national public interest law firm, to file a quick lawsuit.

Thomas More Society Executive Vice President and General Counsel Andrew Bath remarked: “Illinois’ expansive new abortion law, which allows dismemberment abortion up to the moment of birth, is affecting women and children beyond the boundaries of the state."

Bath said, "Planned Parenthood’s pattern of operating in secret is a disgrace and insult to the good people of Illinois. That ghoulish vendor of death hid its true identity and the building’s intended purpose to avoid the objections they knew would come from the people of the community they’ve now infected. And they had the evil audacity to announce it on the anniversary of the secret opening of the Aurora abortion site a dozen years ago.”

“As in Aurora, a shell company was used to hide the new building’s intended use as an abortion mega clinic,” continued Bath. “Planned Parenthood is obviously taking advantage of Illinois’ newly earned status as the Midwest’s ‘abortion tourism destination state,’ targeting women and children from across the Missouri state line, where laws are in place to protect women and girls from the most radical and dangerous abortion practices. This purveyor of death has pulled off a sneak attack on the unsuspecting residents of both states in order to profit by preying on pregnant women in Illinois and Missouri.”
