Private Citizens Host Christmas Celebration in Missouri State Capitol for the First Year

Private citizens in Jefferson City, MO hosted a "Happy Birthday, Jesus" program on Tuesday, December 22 at the Missouri State Capitol First Floor Rotunda.  The Christmas program included Christmas caroling, hymns, prayer, a children's interactivity program and a Nativity Scene on display from noon until 3pm.

Participants were invited to bring a baby gift of diapers, clothing, etc. to be donated to the Pregnancy Help Center of Jefferson City.

The event was coordinated by local residents in Jackson City, including Judy Bax and Kathy Forck, with the support of Thomas More Society and the American Nativity Scene Committee (ANSC).

Thomas More Society and ANSC are also co-sponsoring nativity displays – which have been donated by an anonymous benefactor – in the State Capitols of Illinois, Nebraska, Rhode Island, Georgia, and Texas, and at the Governor’s Mansion in Oklahoma.
