Thomas More Society was forged in 1997 in the crucible of courtroom conflict — the marathon landmark federal antitrust and RICO lawsuit, NOW v. Scheidler. The lawsuit, which began in 1986 and lasted 28 years, pitted the nation’s entire abortion industry and a radical feminist group, the “National Organization for Women” (NOW), against Joe Scheidler and other pro-life leaders throughout the country.
We began as an organization when Tom Brejcha officially stepped away from his career as a corporate attorney to defend the Scheidlers at all costs from this grave injustice.
Soon after many more pro-life clients began to contact the Thomas More Society seeking legal help with no where else to turn. What began as a solo venture of one attorney with a solo case turned into a large not-for-profit public interest law firm dedicated to be that voice for the voiceless in our society.
Since our inception in 1997 we have seen a growing hostility in our secular culture toward upholding the sanctity of all human life, from conception to natural death. We’ve also seen our guaranteed First Amendment rights trampled by secular authorities and corporations with differing ideologies.

We fight against government over-reach of powers against your religious liberties to worship freely and assemble freely in your local church.
